This is only a test
Hello Heathens,
Welcome to the new look for the website. Hopefully now that I have the site built with a proper static site generating language it will be faster for me to get content out. I am not 100% sure how I feel about this theme, but I think that I can tweak some things so that they are more inline with my overall vision of the website. As such this post is more to get playlists out that I haven’t published and to test posting images so I can get a better feel for how they render and how I should structure the folders to get them to render easily.
Recently there was a fairly long power outage for Fairbanks. During this you could only browse the web by using 3G, and it made the issues with web bloat even worse. Slow connection + modern frameworks made most text heavy web pages take forever to load. I wish that developers would move away from this modern design philosophy of having bloated websites, but I think the trend is here to stay.
As such a goal I have for this website is to keep it light, and make sure that all the pages are sub 1 meg to make sure that you can always kill time by reading posts on the Hymnal. I am sure the content fiends and superfans of the show are going to be up in arms that the older posts aren’t here, and I am going to work on getting the ye olden html converted to markdown so I can get those old blog posts up. Comments will be going away.
