First post and show notes
Hello Heathens,
Well this is the first blog post on the official site of The Heavy Hymnal. Thanks for coming to the website to check out what is going on here and hopefully I will be able to update the site regularly with cool ass content and the show will finally have a real repository.
The opener for this semester is still Proud to be Loud by Pantera off their first album to include Phil, Power Metal. This album is an absolute classic and the band recently put out a statement that they would not re-issue albums that were before Phil joined the band, but they have been dodgy about re-issuing this album (it’s their best album by far btw) which is disappointing to hear. After that we dropped into some heavier stuff to make up for last weeks episode being on the lighter side of things. Been listening to a lot of Bolt Thrower at home recently as this band seems to never get old and I really love their first few albums. Some newer tracks towards the end of the playlist and I want to give a big shoutout to Summoning the Lich as their new album fucking slays. Below is a full list of what was played on the show today.
- Proud to be Loud by Pantera
- Voidspawn by Chthe’ilist
- The Spectral Burrows by Slugdge
- A Home by Rivers of Nihil

- Cult of Ophidian by Summoning the Lich
- Thrawing in Agony by Altered Dead
